Faith Beyond Incarceration (FBI Ministry) was born inside a prison cell—founded by a man who served over 27 years behind bars and chose faith, healing, and restoration over despair.
At just 17 years old, Albert J. Yancey III was sentenced to life in prison. What began as a story marked by grief and tragedy was radically rewritten through the love of Jesus Christ. While incarcerated, Albert earned multiple degrees, mentored fellow inmates, and became a spiritual leader within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
But even as he transformed his own life, Albert witnessed the heartbreaking pattern of incarceration repeating itself—men leaving prison only to return. He realized that without healing, hope, and real-world support, freedom was often short-lived.
That’s why, upon his release in 2019, Albert founded Faith Beyond Incarceration: a ministry committed to helping others break the cycle—through faith, family, and practical support.
FBI Ministry is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization walking with justice-impacted individuals at every stage of their journey. We believe that real freedom doesn’t begin when the gates open—it starts when the heart changes.
Our mission is to empower incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals to rebuild their lives with purpose, dignity, and faith. Through in-prison worship services, family restoration programs, and reentry support, we help people go from surviving to thriving.
Albert J. Yancey III is a nationally recognized speaker, reentry advocate, and founder of FBI Ministry. At 17, he was sentenced to life in prison. He spent over 27 years behind bars, but found redemption, purpose, and a calling during his incarceration.
While inside, Albert became a leader, mentor, and minister—earning multiple degrees, leading Toastmasters clubs, and inspiring hundreds of men around him. Since his release in 2019, he has traveled across Texas speaking in schools, churches, prisons, and legislative chambers, using his story to prove one simple truth:
No one is beyond redemption.
